Since its inception in 2012, the purpose of the Inquisitor has been to showcase student writing and creativity and to engage them in researching new ideas, concepts and current affairs. It is entirely student-led with the emphasis on the student focusing on the interests of their audience. It's a magazine for students by students. The ultimate aim of the Inquisitor sessions is to replicate a real-life experience of how an actual newsroom or magazine office works. For example, students are allocated the roles of correspondent, editor, designer and illustrator. They learn the importance of deadlines, collaborative working and the responsibility of publishing work.
The Inquisitor meets every Thursday between 2pm and 4pm under the guidance of The English Department. Students from Grades 6- 11 have volunteered to participate in certain groups focusing on specific areas of general interest that have been chosen by the students.
