Pastoral

While teaching and learning is the core function of NIS, we strongly emphasise on assisting students to be ready for learning by developing their personal and social skills. We use a number of mechanisms to achieve this via both curriculum and pastoral elements.

Firstly, via our PSHE curriculum, which includes opportunities and experiences made available by the school to assist students to develop themselves in a well-balanced way; this includes, moral, social, cultural, mental and physical development.

Secondly, the pastoral care system of the school endeavours to ensures that every student feels that they are a valued member of the school community and that they develop self-esteem and get on well with others.

This system comprises of a network of staff, who act under the guidance of the Boys' Supervisor (G4 – 12 Boys), Girls' Supervisor (G4 – 12 Girls) and Primary Supervisor (KG – G3 Boys and Girls). Those included are Guidance Counsellors, Support and Enrichment Coordinator, Examinations and Higher Education Officer, Home Room Teachers and Class Advisors.

NIS has access to a team of health professionals which includes the school nurse, Nada Clinic Nurse and Nada Clinic doctor.
